Paul Loeffler

Paul Loeffler serves as Sports Director at KMJ 580, responsible for announcing Fresno State baseball, basketball, and football games. He also hosts Hometown Heroes, a weekly program spotlighting World War II veterans, and building on his award-winning television work along the same lines. After calling the action as Fresno State surprised everyone by winning the College World Series, Paul wrote the book "Underdogs to Wonderdogs," now in its second printing


. A native of Los Banos, Paul returned to the Valley after earning his dual degree in Broadcast Journalism and Policy Studies at Syracuse University.


He spent nearly ten years covering sports and news on television for Fresno's CBS affiliate, and he has made an annual network appearance since 2006 as co-host of Scripps National Spelling Bee broadcasts on ABC and ESPN. Paul lives in Fresno with his wife, Tonia, and their daughters, Avery and Mallory.
