Blanca Magana

Community Regional Medical Center

Blanca Magana was born in Mexico and moved to the United States when she was five years old. Growing up in Raisin City, California, Magana knew she wanted to help others. As a small child she would translate for friends and family with their medical providers to help with continuity of care.

As a young woman, Magana decided she would like to become a nurse.  She soon discovered that she had an adverse reaction to any type of physical discomfort on another person’s part. Magana decided that her empathy and skills would be better suited to a roll in advocacy.

Before becoming a member of the Community Medical Center family, Magana worked for Catholic Charities and Centro La Familia as a patient liaison between the general populations and local, state, and government agencies.

Blanca will complete her bachelor’s degree in business management in October of 2009, and intends to continue on to her master’s degree.  All this while working full-time and helping to raise a family of three teenagers alongside her husband, Urbano.
